GIS-Based Multi-Criteria and Multi-Objective Evaluation for Sustainable Land-Use Planning (Case Study: Qaleh Ganj County, Iran) “Landuse Planning Using MCE and Mola”

Abstract Land evaluation is a key factor in land-use spatial planning, affecting both success and sustainability. This study showcases the value of using multi-criteria (MCE) multi-objective land allocation (MOLA) GIS decision-making tools determine most favorable development various types, for Qaleh Ganj County Iran. Weighted linear combination (WLC) ordered weighted averaging (OWA) were used to assess potential seven uses based on predefined criteria. MOLA was also zoning suitability. The results derived from these techniques indicate that rangeland zone with 30.80% ecotourism 22.9% have highest suitability potential, aquaculture 0.26% tourism 0.24% lowest Ganj. Considering 7 lot defined criteria, MCE provided an automatic flexible way dealing qualitative multi-dimensional environmental effects, factors, constraints objectives. WLC OWA helped manage selection factors differently, as their level risk trade-off different. result can be considered optimal maps preservation goal which help protect natural environment this area, will allow continued economic development. approach described developing countries sensitive area facing challenges due rapid its application procedures applied similar territorial contexts, where several should taken into account.
